The tried and tested slant-bed lathes in the NILES-SIMMONS N-series N20-LT/ N30-LT are used for the rotational pre-machining of crankshafts to be deep rolled, e.g. for face cutting the main bearing cheeks and for turning the bearing running surfaces on the main bearings and turning the journal diameter and flange or encoder seating as well.
